Coronavirus updates

  • ANNOUNCING Telemedicine! Read all about it HERE
  • In accordance with the CDCs recommendation for social distancing, we have implemented a "no waiting room" policy.  Patients are being placed in a clean room upon arrival to minimize exposure to others. 
  • We are checking the temperature of all children and adults who enter the office.  If anyone has a temperature of 100 degrees or higher you will be asked to reschedule your appointment.  
  • We no longer have walk in hours.  Please call the office if your child needs an appointment so we can triage appropriately. 
  • If you think your child has coronavirus, please call us BEFORE coming into the office or going to an urgent care or ER.  If your child is having difficulty breathing or you think it is a medical emergency, call 911 and notify them of the coronavirus concern.  See CDC guidelines for what to do if you are sick HERE.  If you would like testing for coronavirus, please contact:

What's new with flu?  

  • We are still scheduling flu appointments for all children ages 6 months and older!  Call the office for an appointment.
  • Children 6 months through 8 years who are receiving the flu vaccine for the first time need two doses spaced at least 4 weeks apart
  • Flu mist is no longer available this season. 
  • Siblings tagging along to an appointment can get their flu shot as well, just let the desk know when you check in. 
  • Flu shots for parents are now available.  The cost is $40 and we are unable to bill your insurance.

Welcome to Our Practice

Child and Adolescent Health Associates, LTD was established in 1980 as a private pediatric practice providing quality comprehensive health care for children from birth to 18 years of age.  All of our providers are Board Certified in Pediatrics and affiliated with Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago and Northwestern (Prentice) Memorial Hospital. Our services include:

  • Newborn hospital visits at Prentice Women's Hospital
  • Well child care (including school, sports and camp physicals)
  • Immunizations (including most required for travel)
  • Walk-in hours Monday - Saturday from 8:30am to 11:30am, and same day afternoon sick visits by appointment Monday - Friday
  • On-call access to physicians 24 hours a day, 365 days a year
  • Comprehensive management of complex pediatric medical conditions and coordinated care with specialists

Our physicians are on the faculty of Northwestern University Medical School and are currently involved in teaching pediatric primary care to students as well as training pediatric residents.

Meet Our Providers

  • Laura M. Mikhail
    MD
    Physician Partner

    Dr. Mikhail has been with CAHA since 2003.  She is a graduate of the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign (BS/MS) and Northwestern University Medical School (MD).  She completed her pediatric residency at Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago.  She is board certified in Pediatrics and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

    Dr. Mikhail loves spending time with her family. She especially loves creating memories traveling with them.  She also is a big fan of sushi!! 

  • Cari A. Tarnowski
    DO
    Physician Partner

    Dr. Tarnowski has been with CAHA since 2005.  She graduated from the University of Iowa (BA) and the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine (DO).  She completed her pediatric residency and chief residency at Advocate Christ Medical Center/Hope Children's Hospital.  She is board certified in Pediatrics and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

    One of Dr. T’s favorite places is Maui, where she got married (got Maui’d!) and she loves all things Hawaiian!

  • Tram L. Luu
    MD
    Staff Physician

    Dr. Luu joined CAHA in 2001.  She is a graduate of Yale University (BA) and the University of Illinois College of Medicine (MD).  She completed her pediatric residency at Boston Medical Center/Boston University.  She also did a chief residency year for the Boston Combined Residency Program.  She is board certified in Pediatrics and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

    Dr. Luu was hula-hoop champion of her college! She enjoys gardening and being with her family!

  • Allison H. Foster
    MD
    Staff Physician

    Dr. Foster joined CAHA in 2011.  She is a graduate of the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign (BS) and Northwestern University Medical School (MD).  She completed her pediatric residency at Children's Memorial Hospital.  She is board certified in Pediatrics and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. 

    In her spare time, Dr. Foster enjoys spending time with her husband and children and is an avid runner!

  • Genna S. Lipkin
    MD
    Staff Physician

    Dr. Lipkin joined CAHA in 2013.  She is a graduate of the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign (BS) and Rush University Medical School (MD).  She completed her pediatric residency at Lurie Children's Hospital in Chicago.  She is board certified in Pediatrics and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

    Dr. Lipkin is an amazing baker.  Her famed chocolate chip and toffee cookies are to die for!

  • Payal D. Adhikari
    MD
    Staff Physician

    Dr. Adhikari joined CAHA in 2013.  She is a graduate of Northwestern University (BS) and Chicago Medical School (MD).  She completed her pediatric residency at Rush Children's Hospital.  She is board certified in Pediatrics and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. 

    Dr. Adhikari went to high school in Singapore and LOVES to travel…all she needs is her passport and backpack and she is ready to go!

  • Ashley Selley
    MD
    Staff Physician

    Dr. Selley joined CAHA in 2019.  She is a graduate of the University of Michigan (BS) and the University of Michigan Medical School (MD).  She completed her pediatric residency and chief residency at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago.  She is board certified in Pediatrics and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

    Dr. Selley is from the upper peninsula of Michigan so she loves all things outdoors! Running, hiking, and stand up paddle boarding are some of her favorites.

  • Jessica Topel
    APN, CPNP
    Pediatric Nurse Practitioner

    Jessica is a graduate of University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (B.S.) and Loyola University Chicago (B.S.N.). She received her Masters in Nursing as a pediatric Nurse Practitioner from University of Illinois at Chicago.  She worked as a RN in the NICU at Lurie Children's Hospital and in Lurie's Pediatric Surgery department as a Nurse Practitioner prior to joining CAHA in 2016. Jessica is also a Certified Breastfeeding Counselor. 

    Jessica loves to try new restaurants around Chicago and travel around the world! 

  • Meghan Sullivan
    APN, CPNP
    Pediatric Nurse Practitioner

    Meghan is a graduate of University of Wisconsin-Madison (B.S.) and DePaul University (Masters in Nursing).  She recieved her Doctor of Nursing Practice (PNP) from Rush University in 2017.  She worked as a nurse at Lurie Children's Hospital for 8 years in the neurology, endocrinology, and neurosurgery departments prior to joining CAHA in 2017.

    Meghan loves to travel with her husband and daughter.  She was born in California which is one of her favorite destinations!
